How these numbers are measured
- Median
- The big number is the typical time right now: we look at the last 15 minutes of test emails and take the middle value — half were faster, half slower. It refreshes every minute and is the same figure our status page shows.
- 24h median
- The same typical time over the whole of the last day. Think of it as the benchmark: the live number moves with the last few minutes, the 24-hour number tells you what is normal.
- API
- These cards measure emails sent through our REST API. Emails sent through the SMTP relay are measured the same way and shown on the status page.
- Probe
- Every minute we send one real email along the same path your emails take — into the API, through our queue, to the recipient's mail server, and the delivery notice back to a webhook — and time each step. Nothing here is estimated or typed in; if a value is unavailable, its card is hidden rather than guessed.
- Colour
- Lower is better. The 24-hour line is green when the daily median is at or below the live number, and red when the daily median is higher — meaning the last few minutes are running faster than the daily norm.
